“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory…” — John 1:14 (ESV)
On this Christmas Eve, we’re reminded of a truth so staggering it’s easy to take for granted: God stepped into our story. Not from a distance. Not from the clouds. But into a manger—low, quiet, breakable, vulnerable.
He came close.
The world waited for a King and got a Child. Humanity longed for a throne and was given a feeding trough. We looked for power; Heaven answered with Presence.
And today, in all the complexity of our lives—the unresolved questions, the ache for restoration, the joy and the strain of the season—that same Presence still draws near.
Christmas is the declaration that:
- You are not forgotten.
- You are not walking alone.
- Your story matters deeply to God.
- Restoration has already begun.
As we reflect on this past year, we can’t help but see thread after thread of God showing up—sometimes quietly, sometimes boldly, but always faithfully. We’ve seen Him heal places long wounded. We’ve watched Him awaken identity in those who felt lost. We’ve witnessed Him whisper hope where shame once screamed.
And we’ve experienced again how Jesus doesn’t wait for us to have it all together. He comes right into the middle of the mess—like He did that first Christmas night.
So on this holy evening, our prayer for you is simple:
May you sense Jesus drawing close.
May His peace settle over every anxious place.
May His joy rise in unexpected ways.
May His love remind you that restoration is not just possible—it’s promised.
From our hearts to yours,
Merry Christmas.
May the nearness of Christ be your greatest gift this year.
And that’s the mid-week memo.
With love and gratitude,
Steve & Colleen
