Steve Adams

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Steve was a business consultant, executive coach and entrepreneur having owned or partnered in a variety of ventures over his 35-year business career. He earned his MBA in Marketing from Drexel University with a BA in Business and a Minor in Economics from Grove City College. Steve has a love for nature and wildlife, capturing many images seen in ministry posts, as a photography enthusiast. He also enjoys fitness training, reading, writing, and listening to podcasts on a variety of subjects.

COlleen Adams

Co-Founder & Chief program officer

Colleen was VP of Programs at Water Street Mission in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for nearly 12 years. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President for a national Health Care consulting firm and Adjunct Professor at Eastern University. She was a licensed clinical social worker and earned her MBA at Eastern University, a Masters in Social Work at Temple University, and a Bachelors in Social Work at Messiah College. Colleen is a lover of the great outdoors and God’s wildlife creation. She enjoys flower gardening, loving on their Golden Retriever Beau and heading to the beach with Steve whenever possible.

Katie Scott

Katie Scott

Project Manager & Administrator

Katie was a project manager and program director at Water Street Mission, until she left following the birth of her first daughter. Since EBM’s inception, she has worked alongside Colleen and Steve, both professionally and in her own healing journey. A graduate of Elizabethtown College and certified girl mom, Katie is passionate about sharing the hope of restoration in Jesus, particularly through the lens of motherhood.

Michael Kurtz

Ministry Ally and Content Contributor

Michael is a Pennsylvania native, born and raised predominantly in Central PA. A graduate of Penn State University, he spent the last twenty-plus years working in the field of Information Technology and is currently Senior Account Manager for an IT firm in the City of Lancaster. His friendship with Steve Adams began more than a decade ago, after a divinely orchestrated meeting at a Men’s ministry in 2013. Michael has been an ally and contributor to Embracing Brokenness Ministries since 2020, writing and speaking with a focus on the healing journey and sharing his own personal testimonies of restoration and discipleship. The father of three beautiful, talented, and loving children, Michael enjoys hiking, sportsman’s activities, and spending time in the mountains.
